All race day activities take place at the Tsongas Arena (see

The Marathon and Half Marathon start at 8:00 a.m. on Father
Morrissette Blvd (left at top of arena driveway).
You should plan to
arrive at the Tsongas Arena at least 90 minutes before the
start of the race. Traffic back-ups on major roads into the
city of Lowell occur on race morning.
3.
Parking is available at the Tsongas Arena garage (and other
city garages) for a flat fee.
Race volunteers
will provide assistance directing traffic to the garage,
drop-off areas, and how to leave the arena while the finish
line is staged.
4.
Pace groups are available. Look for signs at the start area
and runners with pace times on backs of shirts.
5.
Course Support:
a.
Water is available at the start and finish.
b.
Clocks on the marathon course can be found every 2 miles.
c.
Water Stops – approximately every 2 miles. Gatorade, water,
and a porta-john at every water stop.
d.
GU is available on the MARATHON course at miles (approx) 7.5
and 17.5
e.
Medical aid is available at the Rourke Bridge: Marathon
miles 12.5 and 22.4; Half Marathon at miles 3.5 and 9.7.
Medical aid/triage is also available at the finish line.
f.
Official support ends 6 hours after the start of the race
(2:00 p.m.)
6.
Spectators can watch the race at the Rourke Bridge (Marathon
miles (approx 3 and 13; Half Marathon miles (approx) 3 and
and 9+). Spectators can watch the finish from the steps in
front of the Tsongas Arena.
7.
Showers are available at the UMass-Lowell Recreation Center
– same location as number pick-up on Friday and Saturday (2
blocks over from the Tsongas Arena).
8.
Capstone Photography (www.capstonephoto.com)
will be taking official race photos on the course and at the
finish line.
