Note: starting this year (2011) we have made a change to
the Baystate Course to make it easier to run and easier for
the runners by moving the finish to the Tsongas arena.
This puts the finisher and the start in the same area and
makes it much easier for you to leave the race area.
The marathon starts at the corner in
front of the Tsongas Center (the intersection of
Fr. Morissette Boulevard and Arcand Drive). Marathon
runners start on the left side of the road (half marathoners
start on the right side of the road). The
runners go west. along Fr. Morissette Blvd,
which turns into Pawtucket Street., which turns into Middlesex Street.
The runners go by the Rourke Bridge. At the fifth left, runners turn
left onto Broulette Street (also known as Grosvenor St).
At the end of Broulette, turn
right onto Princeton Street in
Chelmsford. At end of Princeton Street, the road turns right and goes
through Vinal Square to Middlesex Road. Runners head into Tyngsboro and
take a right onto the Tyngsboro Bridge. At end of the bridge, turn
right onto Route 113. On the first loop, runners will turn right and
cross the Rourke Bridge and take a right back onto Middlesex Street.
Again, runners will take the
left onto Broulette Street. Turn right
onto Princeton Street and go through Vinal Square to Middlesex Road.
Head into Tyngsboro and take a right onto the Tyngsboro Bridge. At end
of bridge, turn right onto Route 113.
On the second loop, runners
go past the Rourke Bridge and proceed to
the Aiken Street Bridge where they turn right. Runners turn right at LeLacheur Park
onto Perkins St. Perkins St turns left and becomes
Suffolk St. Runners proceed to
Fr. Morissette Blvd, where they turn left. They make the
short run to Arcand Drive and turn left into the finish
area.
